The Nepali Society of Northern Tasmania (NSNT) successfully hosted its annual celebration of Krishna Janmashtami and Gaura Parva on Friday, 4 September 2026, at the Mowbray Golf Club in Launceston.
The evening brought the local diaspora together to preserve and share rich cultural traditions. Highlights of the event included:
Cultural Rituals: Traditional Bhajan Kirtan, Puja, and the distribution of Prasad.
Community Highlights: A vibrant Deuda dance and a beautiful display of community youth dressed in traditional Radha and Krishna attire.
A Time for Solidarity: Given the recent devastating floods in Nepal, the gathering also served as a deeply meaningful space for the community to unite in solidarity, sending thoughts and prayers to those affected back home.
